ABOUT ME
From Big 4 Public Accounting to building small businesses into international organizations, with many M&A transactions under my belt, being referenced in more than two dozen publications including CNBC, TheStreet, U.S. News & World Report, TechRepublic and Stackify, I'm a value-growth focused CFO / COO that began my career with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
My experience at PwC, and subsequent position as Controller and CFO lead me to a small company that was at high risk of going out of business. Over the next several years I managed its financial turnaround and expansion to a multinational corporation. I created a growth-through acquisition strategy and was deeply involved in its implementation, from structuring deals and negotiations to post-buy merging of systems and processes.
In my current role as CFO/COO at Melillo Consulting Inc., an IT Technology professional services and products company serving Fortune 1000 companies, I have successfully managed triple digit growth in a lightning speed environment. I'm responsible for perpetually maximizing profitability and enterprise valuations, mergers and integrations of strategic acquisitions, development and implementation of immediate and long-term financial strategies, system integration of enterprise platforms, as well as management of operations.

WHY I CREATED THIS BLOG
Over the past 30 years I have worked as a CFO and CFO/COO in small companies that over time became large entities. I consider this experience unique in that it has afforded me tremendous visibility into issues one may not see working for a conglomerate. There is a special set of skills and understanding that is required working in a small businesses that wants to get to the next level. Everything is an issue. Creating strategies, building operational processes, hiring, IT systems and fiscal responsibility are all critical, but what do you focus on first? Where does one begin to look for answers, and as important, who has the time?
